Did the Wright brothers, Edison, Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Bill Gates, etc., "cross / lines"?

Did / does inventors and innovative "cross-lines" of their peers of their historical time? (Social, the chain of command, popularity, etc.) Well, Bob A, I 'm an innovator who has witnessed first-hand that it is the peers who are experiencing any problems with a new innovation and technology, and closing out or slammin down on the Innovator! Thhat is why I asked the question, FYI.

for most of these (and most inventors / innovators) are very introverted and have little concern for their peers or any other part of society
